Save up your cig money, Schmutz. I saved $5 a day when I quit (pack and a half in 2001 dollars)and played Pebble Beach. Didn't take that long. Keep it up, buddy...
Thanks Robert. So far I think I've saved about $50 in the last 6 days.
I called Pebble on a whim, about 10 years ago to ask about greens fees. $365 for 18 holes of golf. That's insane!
Now it's $495
What a track.
I don't care what else is going on, if there's a tournament from Augusta, Pebble, Andrews, Doral(!),or Oakmont....I'm tuning in. Carnoustie and Troon too. I love watching the best players get their games scrambled.
Ryder Cup at Medinah next year. Assuming the world is still here, I'm going.
Hopefully not that long, but if it takes that long so be it. It's a process of halving. Went from 2 packs a day to one. Then, to a half a pack for 6 days, now I'm down to 6 or 8 a day. Next halving is Friday. That'll get me to 4 a day. At that point, what's the point? Might as well just rip that band-aid off and let it hurt a little.
No, didn't see that. He deserves it. Christopher Ricks [Harvard & Oxford professor] argues that Bob Dylan is America's best poet. I'd be putting Waits up there oo.
Do you know Imelda May? She's such a talented girl ... from 'The Liberties' in Dublin.
If you get the chance, check out the entire concert. It's on our PBS stations. She's absolutely great, and Beck never fails to bring the best new talent to the party. (New from an American perspective.)
They don't have the tuned upped at their website, and I can't find it on YouTube either but the tune they did, How High the Moon, is part of the PBS special, and you can view that HERE
And that my friend, is an absolutely smoked version in my opinion. They kill it. Exquisite.
(As for my forays into the mosh pit. Guilty as charged. Sometimes I don't know what comes over me. Tell ya what tho, ...not a good time to be picking shit with me. A little edgy if you know what I mean.)

A Classic.
Hope you're winning.
John
Thanks my friend. Yes, still winning. It's a bitch, but it had to be done. Peace brother.
One choice at a time.
Good luck!

I have recently gotten my first exposure to Imelda, thanks to Jeff Beck's Les Paul tribute. That girl's got that thing they call "it."

And btw- Great link, great cut, and that's a great band backing Imelda up there.
Thanks for that. Jeff's something, huh.
I've been trying to find a link of Imelda singing at the Grammies but can't find it.
Once you give up them sticks I intend to bust yer nads over you-know-what ... Rise Above the Hurricanes of slurry, my hombre!
The vid you've likely already seen is this interview at the Grammys.

Yes, I know what you mean, so I'll park that ... for now.
Thanks for the link. Imelda has a heart of gold, that comes through in the music, doesn't it?
Happy St. Paddy's Day.
And to you too lad. This year, St. Paddy's in Chicago saw 69 degrees. Almost set a record. Beautiful day.
